NTT DATA, a global digital business and IT services leader, hereby announces the launch of a Connected Car Data Initiative to reduce traffic congestion & CO2 emissions. NTT DATA to develop a proof of concept (POC) in February 2023 utilizing connected car data owned by TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION in a parking lot at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport TOKYO-BAY, a shopping mall operated by Mitsui Fudosan Group.

This POC validates the processing and analysis of past driving data and real-time driving data (Vehicle speed and Fuel consumption). Analysis results are updated in “LaLaport TOKYO-BAY” website as the congestion status of surrounding roads to verify;
(1) Whether the system can contribute to the dispersion of traffic flow by optimizing customers’ movement during congestion
(2) How much it can contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions as a result.
